Obituary

Robert Ray “Bobby” Faust Sr. was called to Heaven on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the age of 82, in his town of Pflugerville, Texas. Surrounded by loving family and friends, Bobby passed peacefully in his home. Bobby is survived by his precious wife, Gay Nell Marie Pulkrabek Faust, their three sons and spouses; Ray and Kimberly Faust, Danny and Peggy Faust, and Roy Faust, and their grandchildren who knew him as “PawPaw”; Macy, Konner, Emily, Caden, Rainer, and Gabby & Elden Doerr.

To say Bobby embraced every minute of his life is an understatement. He loved his family, hunting, fishing, working, spending time with friends, and his church community. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Gay Nell, for 59 years. His genuine and giving spirit touched the lives of just about everyone he ever met.

Bobby was born to Helen and Emil Faust on May 31, 1940, in Belmont, Texas. He spent his early years in Seguin, Texas, and graduated from Seguin High School. After high school, Bobby moved to Austin and went to work with his brother, Sam Faust. He owned his own company, “Faust Painting Services” until he retired at age 60. Additionally, Bobby acquired several rental properties throughout the Austin area and was very proud to house many families over the years.

Bobby and Gay Faust have been active members of Cameron Road Church of Christ in Austin since the early 1970s, where he served as a Deacon and was beloved by many church members. Bobby touched many lives while at Cameron Road, especially the children who remember him for his cheerful spirit and sharing of “Juicy Fruit” gum.

Bobby lived his life to the fullest, ensuring his time was well spent with family. He was deeply passionate about fishing and hunting. He would catch his own bait to bring with him on so many adventures, whether it be fishing on the various lakes around Texas or coasts down south. One of his favorite stories to tell from his last hunting trip was when he shot two deer with one bullet. His love for the outdoors was passed down to his sons and his grandchildren, who will continue keeping his passions alive. He will always be remembered as a vibrant and hardworking person by those dear to him.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin, Texas, along with a viewing that will begin at 11:00 AM.
