Maria Vasquez

Mrs. Maria Luisa B. Vasquez, passed away on October 18, 2019, while surrounded by her family and love ones after a long fight with breast cancer.  Maria Luisa was born to Mr. Ramon and Mrs. Mauricia Barrientez on September 21, 1955 in Seguin, Texas.  Maria Luisa married and is survived by her longtime friend and love, Eufemio Vasquez.

She is the loving and devoted mother of her surviving children Javier Vasquez, Roxanne V. Moreno, Rosemary Vasquez (Eric) and Rochell Vasquez; and the best grandmother of Maurillio Vasquez (Crystal) Brittnany Moreno, Luis Moreno (Shyan) Chelsea Moreno (Chance) Raynaldo Moreno, Danielle R. Davila, Samantha Vasquez and Mary Lou Suarez; great grandchildren, Amiziaha, Isaiah, Xavier, Elijiah, Annabella, Kay’leeah, Aubriella and Sulema; surviving sisters, Martha Vasquez (Miguel), Flora Escalante (Jerry), Margret Garcia (Steave), Angie Garcia (Jimmy), Yolanda Rejieno (Lupe), and MaryJane (Avileno).  Mrs. Vasquez is also survived by many, many beloved nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Mr.  Ramon and Mauricia S. Barrientez; in-laws, Mr. Angel and Rachel O. Vasquez; brothers, Joseph A. Barrientez, Placido Barrientez, son-in-law, Raynaldo Moreno; sister, Ramona Villafranco; and granddaughter, Sulema L. Crabtree.

Maria Luisa’s life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind and compassionate to one another forgiving each other just as God also forgave you.”  She loved to sew, dance, arts and crafts and floral arrangements.  Maria was a dedicated mother first and foremost.  She treasured her children and embraced every moment she was able to share with them.  She especially enjoyed her role of GG.  She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh; she always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear.  She will be missed.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2019, in the Goetz Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rob Wisdom officiating.  The family will receive friends for a visitation prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.  Arrangements are under the direction of Goetz Funeral Home.
