On September 16, 1969 at the age of 17, Jacinto Acuna, aka Pastor Jay accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior, under a small tent revival in San Antonio, Texas. That day he was instantly delivered from drugs and alcohol, healed from liver illness, and called into the ministry of saving souls. He began a life of full service unto God. As a young man, he traveled with his Family to Michigan to work. He became a member of a little church where Pablo and Lydia Garcia were his first pastors. He fell in love with the Pastor’s daughter, Rebecca. She later became his wife. They married on November 6, 1971. They became pastors of a little church in Fort Worth, Texas where they had their first born, Priscilla. They moved to the LA area soon after and in 1974, their son Robert Jay was born. They became a family of God, singing and preaching the word in churches across America. Jay Acuna pastored many churches in his ministry life. He traveled evangelizing God’s word, and many were touched and healed because of his ministry. He impacted countless lives and made a lasting imprint in our hearts . In the year 2000, he established his current church, Straight Street Church. This church started in the home of his sister, Alice Villareal, in Kyle, TX. Straight Street Church extended to the Austin area for several years. In 2011, Pastor heard from the Lord about establishing another location in Seguin, where all his sisters, brother and their families live. Pastor Jay has always cared deeply for his family and all families. He traveled between one church in two locations for four years. In 2015, the church purchased land in Seguin at 2517 N. Austin St. This is our current location. He always said, a church that’s alive is worth the drive! . Wife Rebecca, Son Robert Jay, and daughter Priscilla were at bedside on Pastor Jay’s last days. Pastor Jay, commissioned them to continue the church and take care of his angel, his wife “Becca."
