Gertrude Crutcher

Gertrude was born in Guadalupe County on October 14, 1949 to her loving parents Leo Ussery Sr and Irene Sanders Ussery. Gertrude professed her love for Christ at an early age. She re-dedicated her life to Christ and united with the Greater Second Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James A Cooper until Christ whispered her name. Gertrude attended Ball High School in Seguin, Texas. She was employed at Nesbit Nursing Home where she loved feeding other people’s love ones. After 25 years, Gertrude hung up her apron and retired. Gertrude had a passion for cooking and feeding others. She would make sure you ate until your heart was content. She also had a passion for shopping at Cato’s Fashions and Bath and Body Works. Gertrude favorite scripture was Psalm 23 and one of her favorite songs was “Walk around Heaven.” On Sunday, July 5, 2020 Gertrude answered the call of the Master. 2 Sons, Robert Dale Crutcher (Lisa), Patrick Ron Jones (Anna) and Grandson, D’Anthony Jones. 4 sisters: Della, Cardelia, Ella and Kitty (Vernon), 3 Brothers: Abby Lee (Peggy), Leo Jr. and Norris (Henrietta) The Lord blessed Gertrude with special bonus children: Erna Calvert, Idella Sutton, Maxine Cockrum, Patrisha Jones and Frank Jones Jr.; 3 grandchildren: Ayla, Robert and Havan and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
