Gary Owens

Gary Lynn Owens, age 62, of Geronimo, Texas passed away August 13, 2021. He was born November 21, 1958 in Seguin, Texas, son of Janie Lee Owens.

Gary will always be remembered as a caring, loving person who worked hard and always put family first. He shared so many things with his family and friends such as his vast knowledge and love of hunting, firearms craftsmanship, music, nature, history and science. He loved animals and through the years brought home numerous strays to have a forever loving home. He had a strong will and fought hard to stay with his family. Nothing could compare to his love and devotion for his family.

Gary was preceded in death by his grandfather, grandmother, mother, sister, niece, and several aunts, uncles, brother and sisters in law, and cousins. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Diane; daughter, Samantha and son-in-law Scott; his niece who was like a daughter to him, Brandi and her husband Zach; grandchildren Jaxon, James, and Sessy; nieces and nephews, Nathan, Ben, Penny and Elora and numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Goetz Funeral Home, 713 N. Austin St., Seguin Texas. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Lone Oak Cemetery in Geronimo, Texas. A Celebration of Life with family and friends will follow directly after the burial service at the VFW Hall located at 6808 Hwy. 123, Geronimo, TX.
