Evylen (Evy Kay) Junker Hastings went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2023 after a long illness.

Evylen was born the 5th child of Martin and Margaret (Jandt) Junker on April 30, 1950.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike Hastings; and brothers, Delvin and Kirby.  She is survived by her son, John Karl Hastings and fiancé; grandsons, Tishun Hastings, John Karl Hastings Jr., and one granddaughter; great grandons, Brayelen Hastings, Kaizen Hastings and Kasai Hastings and one great granddaughter.  She is also survived by sisters, Pat Hall of Friendswood, Texas, Gloria Roach of Seguin, and Karen and husband, Marvin Massey of North Richland Hills, Texas, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Most of her working years were spent as a dispatcher for the Seguin Police Department, Kirby, Texas Police Department, Colleyville, Texas Police Department and Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office.

Later in life she studied and received her certification as a pharmaceutical tech.  She became an expert in each job that she had.

Evylen was an excellent crocheter and created her own patterns.  She enjoyed making specialized gifts for family.  Her other interests were reading, crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles.  She was a very caring person and acted as a caretaker for her mother and brother Kirby during their illnesses.

She will be missed greatly by all.
