Eva Hoecker

October 26, 1932 — September 15, 2021

Eva Mae Hoecker, 88, of New Braunfels, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 15, 2021.  She was born on October 26, 1932 in St. Augustine, TX to Jessie and Anna Finn.

Eva, a true Texan, was a passionate woman of integrity.  She was honest to the core and believed in always doing the right thing.  Eva was a clever woman, a thinker, who had many great ideas that she shared with her family.  If she found something that worked, she shared it with all of her family.  There are many “Eva ideas” that her family still uses today.

Eva was a family woman.  She loved her family deeply and with a passion.  A giver of nicknames, she had one for everyone in the family.  When they would hear that endearing name, they knew that love was calling.

Most of all, Eva was a woman of God, completely consumed by Jesus.  She was a fierce prayer warrior that believed strongly in his word.  Eva believed in the Holy Spirit.  She shared the Gospel with all who would listen, especially her family.  She taught her children to be God fearing people.  She was truly a servant of Christ.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Anna Finn; grandsons, Robbie Bayley and Ethan Calvert; siblings, Moses Knighton, Hayden Knighton, Wendal Knighton, Jessie Lee Finn, Jr., William Finn, Myrtle Finn and Irene Finn.

Eva is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Cleve Hoecker; children, Anna Shadden (Gary), Calvin Bayley, Beth Pitcock, Angela Williams (Jon); step-children, Laura Hoecker, Michael Hoecker (Shelly), Marla Collord (David), Matthew Hoecker (Brandy Jessie); grandchildren, Laurie Michelle, Anissa, Clay, Nathaniel, Susie, Patsy, Heath, Ami, Tyler, Megan, Nolan, Morgan, Amanda, Chase; 36 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
