Donald Boswell Sr.

d. September 10, 2020

Donald Kenneth Boswell Sr. of Seguin, Texas passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the age of 65. He was born to Lucy Lee (De Zern) Boswell and Lester Stanton Boswell on November 7, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Donald K. Boswell Sr. was no ordinary man. He was a dedicated husband and father. The role of provider was so deeply ingrained in his soul and he was the epitome of what it meant to be a man. At a young age he joined The Boy Scouts of America and gained an affinity for the outdoors and learned valuable life skills. Energized by hunting and fishing, he found a sense of peace that can only come from the fresh air of the outdoors and nature. In 1982, he yearned for a chance to turn his life around so he left St. Louis, Missouri and traveled to Laredo, Texas in seek of a fresh start. Boy did he succeed! With a great sense of humor and some good looks, he landed his wife of 38 years, a true 10. Following in his fathers footsteps, he became a highly skilled machinist. He was skilled enough to be a machinist and crazy enough to love it. Two children and six grandchildren later, his life was full of love and laughter. He was someone who always had good stories to tell, but more importantly he was a good listener. He gave great advice mostly from personal experience. “I Can’t” was not in his vocabulary. His voice echoing to us, “the only one holding you back is yourself”. He focused on living in the moment and connecting with the people he cared most about. He built lasting relationships and will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Lee Boswell; father, Lester Stanton Boswell and brother, Michael Edward Boswell.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 38 years, Maria Amalia Boswell; children, Stephanie Lee Boswell-Vogt and husband Ralph Arthur Vogt Jr, Donald Kenneth Boswell Jr. and wife, Jennifer Berrios; grandchildren, Nathaniel Arthur Vogt, Nicholas Alexander Vogt, Nolan Anthony Vogt, Nash Andrew Vogt, Ava Juliana Boswell, Emma Elizabeth Boswell and his brother, Douglas Lester Boswell. Donald is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
