Cynthia Johnson

October 4, 1957 — January 16, 2020

Seguin Texas

Cynthia Kaye Johnson, 62, of Louise, Texas passed away suddenly on January 16, 2020.  She was born in Camden, Arkansas on October 4, 1957 to the late Sam Robertson and Hazel Robertson.  She was a graduate of Camden Fairview High School in 1976.  She worked at Schultz Saloon in Seguin.

Cynthia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  Many envisioned her as a jack of all trades. She was passionate and devoted to the American Mustangs, Rottweilers and Blue Lacy dogs. Throughout the past 15 years, Cynthia was a true ambassador and mentor for the Blue Lacy dog breed. Cynthia truly loved Lacy dogs.

Cynthia and husband, James, raised and sold quality Blue Lacy dogs on their property known as Podunk Heaven Kennels.  Cynthia’s knowledge on genetics, structure, breeding and animal husbandry was vast. She was a breed inspector with the LGDR, and played a vital role in all revision of standards and guidelines for the maintenance of the breed that she absolutely loved. Cynthia was also a photographer who donated her true talent at dog events, friends weddings and gatherings. So many are grateful for all the memorable times she helped capture.  She truly contributed every chance and every way she could.  Cynthia shared her knowledge with anyone that asked.  If it was mustangs, dogs, well formulated documents, photography, or just how to get the best quality deal on anything, Cynthia would spend countless hours to make sure she helped anyone who called or asked.

Cynthia is survived by her husband, James Johnson, her daughter Dana Caudell and grandson Hayden of Seguin, her son Ryan Waterbury and wife Brittany of Luling, her stepdaughter Jessica Zarate, husband Emmanuel and grandchildren Caden and Kylie of Katy, her stepson Jayson Johnson of Louise; her father and mother-in-law Milton and Loretta Johnson of Louise; her brother-in-law Doyle Johnson, wife Maura and niece Kaitlin of Houston; and sister-in-law Lesli Crabtree, husband Damon and nephews Riley and Ross of Shallowater.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her father Sam Robertson, her mother Hazel Robertson, and her brother, Sam Robertson.
