Wanda Craig

On the morning of January 9,2019, Wanda Mayree Davis Craig Passed into the loving arms of her Lord God and of her heavenly family. What a wonderful reunion it must have been! She was preceded in death by her parents Jimi and Plemon Davis, her step-mother Mildred Davis, her sister Sue Davis Youngblood, her nephew Michael Butler as well as her husband of 62 years Harry E. Craig Jr. and her beloved daughter Cathy Craig Leak.

Wanda is survived by her son Harry Edward Craig III and wife Susan, her sister Julie Davis Moody, her sister Mary Nell Davis Butler and husband Don, grandchildren Corey Leak, Kerri Leak Sparkman, Kyle Leak, Carolyn Craig Roelse and John Collier Craig along with their spouses and children.

Born in Purdon, Texas and then moving to Corcicana, Wanda enjoyed family and church activities. With the coming of World War II, she moved to Ft. Worth and worked in a wartime factory, contributing to the nation's war efforts. After marrying her husband Harry (H.E.), they moved to San Antonio where H.E. served as a fireman and eventual chief on Brooks Air Force Base. Wanda ran the household, taking care of the first Cathy and then Harry. She helped with the fire equipment business H.E. owned. The Family was very involved in Central Baptist Church where Wanda taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was happy to do whatever she could to help others in the church. Over the years, Wanda had become an excellent cook so many people enjoyed her delicious food.

At H.E.'s retirement in the early 1970's they built a home and moved to Lake Placid Estates in Seguin. They enjoyed many years of retirement there. Becoming members of First Baptist Church in Seguin, Wanda continued teaching Sunday School (middle school girls and then ladies). Her delicious cooking was greatly appreciated, especially her pies. It was a good, happy and productive time for the Craigs with many family gatherings, friends and church.

Wanda Craig continually, constantly, loving lived her life as a woman "after God's own heart." Positive, always seeing the good around her in people or events, she served as a wonderful example of Christ's love in daily life. By her example, she taught her family and friends to love God and to love one another. She is greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
