Trinidad Cardenas

Trini Cardenas passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 10:05 am at the age of 99 years. She passed surrounded by her loving family and friends. Trini was born in Lockhart, Texas on August 4, 1918 to Francisco and Juanita Castillo Cardenas. A resident of Seguin for most of her life, Trini was a co-founder of El Ranchito Restaurant and along with her sister Modesta, they operated the business for many years. Trini was always the happiest when surrounded by family and friends.

Trini is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Jose and Guadalupe Cardenas; sisters, Cruz Salazar, Benigna Loera, Ofelia Hinojosa, Modesta Cardenas; nieces, Gloria Gonzales and Hopie Merz.

Trini is survived by her nieces, Delores Flores, Dora Aleman, Inez Villareal, Frances Tristan, Grace Camarillo, Vanessa Eubank, Ernestina Espinoza, Nancy Alvarez; nephews, Daniel De La Garza, Michael Hinojosa, Abelardo Salazar, Toribio Salazar, Albino Salazar, Raymond Cardenas and numerous great nieces, nephews and extended family.

A devoted Catholic, Trini was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. As a true matriarch of her family, Trini was also a loyal friend and a spiritual inspiration to all who knew her.

Trini Cardenas was a beautiful lady and she will be missed. She led the way among women of all nationalities in continuing a family business. We are certain her words of advice and passion in the family business will be held dear to our hearts. Trini and Momo were admired by many.
The family would like to thank all the Staff members at Remarkable Health Care Center and CIMA Hospice New Braunfels, Texas for all their care and compassion during her final last days.

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Guadalupanas of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or CIMA Hospice in New Braunfels, Texas. Arrangements are entrusted to Goetz Funeral Home.
