Susan Long

August 6, 1957 — February 18, 2020

Susan Elaine Long, 8/6/1957-2/18/2020, age 62, passed away due to complications from Early-Onset Alzheimer's. In life, Susan enjoyed barrel racing, gardening, researching native and non-native plants, fishing, searching for fossils in the creek beds and identifying them at the UT Campus in Austin, exploring and hiking at parks especially at Big Bend National Park, and being outside and enjoying nature. She enjoyed being at the farm, enjoying the peace and quiet, observing the stars in the sky with her telescope, and sitting around the fire with her family.  Susan is survived by her mother Patricia Arnecke, son and daughter, Christopher and Juliane Long, daughter in-law Jennifer Long, and grandchildren Easten and Westen Long, beloved dogs Turner, Gunner and Pup-Pup, along with numerous plants and wild animals.  Remember, whenever there is a butterfly or hummingbird flying around, that will be her gracious presence leading the way. She will be greatly missed each and every minute of every day.  There will be a grave side service at the Arneckeville Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery on Friday, 2/21/2020 at 3:00 PM, located in Arneckeville Texas, southwest of Cuero on FM 236.  If you wish, in lieu of flowers please make donations in her name to Hope Hospice (www.hopehospice.net) or Hilarity for Charity (www.wearehfc.org) - plant some wild flowers and feed the birds.
