Celebrating the Life and Faith of Soraida Vasquez

Soraida Vasquez passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, in Seguin, Texas. She was born on June 24, 1936, in Yauco, Puerto Rico.
She is survived by her son, Mario Novalés (Cindy) of Mesa, Arizona; and her daughters, Elizabeth Stewart (Steve) of Bedford, Texas; Noemi Dugan (John) of Waterford, Michigan; Billie Duncan (Rick) of Chandler, Arizona; and Wilma Wibert (Tom) of New Braunfels, Texas. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandsons, nieces, and nephews, whom she dearly loved, along with her devoted friends, Pedro and Martha Vasquez.
Soraida was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Vasquez; her parents, Mario and Margarita Garcia; her sisters, Aracelia Fontanes and Marina Foster; and her brother, Mario Garcia.
A faithful servant of the Lord, Soraida devoted her life to sharing the gospel, serving as a missionary, pastor, and chaplain. Her steadfast faith touched countless lives.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Guadalupe Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Seguin for their kind and compassionate care during her final year.
Funeral services will be held privately, with family and close friends gathering to honor and celebrate her life.
