Michael Hernandez

Michael "Mike" John Hernandez, 55, of Kyle, and formerly of Seguin, died peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, May 3, 2019 at his residence. Mike was born February 4, 1964 in Seguin, to Pauline (Suarez) and Pedro Juan Hernandez. Mike was a proud member of the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany, Alaska, France and Central America. He also served in the Texas Army National Guard for several years. Mike studied aviation technology at Texas State Technical College in Waco. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a sports enthusiast.

Mike is survived by his wife of 18 years, Patricia "Patty" Moreno, of Kyle; son, Michael Vincent Hernandez, Jr.; father, Pedro Juan Hernandez, of Seguin; brother, Paul Hernandez and his wife, Sandy, of Plano; also survived by his niece and nephew, Lindsey Boughton and her husband, Doyle, and Jacob Hernandez. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Hernandez.

A gathering of Mike's family and friends will begin at 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Goetz Funeral Home, 713 N. Austin St., Seguin 78155. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M., Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 409 W. Krezdorn St. in Seguin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 10, 2019, also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in Seguin. Interment with military honors will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, Tx. 78209, Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 9:30 A.M.
