Mary Schmidt

Mary Jane Cashat Schmidt passed away on December 9, 2016 at the age of 83, in New Braunfels, Texas. She was born August 31, 1933 in Liberty Texas to Parents Louis and Adia Duhon Cashat, and where she met her beloved husband Raymond Schmidt on February 22, 1949.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband; Raymond; son, Leonard Schmidt; daughter, Patty Ann Schmidt; sisters, Lucille Cashat, Loraine Dejohn, and Rosie Smikal; brothers, Johnny Cashat and John Louis Cashat, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Susan and husband Russell Caddell, grandchildren; Jessica and husband Grant Blackman, Shay Caddell, Kalli Caddell; great-grandson, Jack Blackman; Sister, Lucy Pinkson; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. Serving as active pallbearers will be James Louis Pinkston, Bill Pinkston, Ronnie Mock, Anton Smikal, Wayne Beeman, and Holden Caddell; honorary pallbearers are Grant Blackman and Teddy Olsovsky
Visitation will be held at Goetz Funeral Home on Monday December 12, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Anne J. Kolmeier officiating. Interment will follow at Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek cemetery.
