Mary Evelyn Curton Long of Waco, TX, gained her wings on January 25, 2026 at the age of 82. A service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 305 N 30th St, Waco, TX 76710. The reception will follow at La Fiesta Restaurant & Cantina at 3815 Franklin Ave, Waco, TX 76710 starting at 12:00 pm.
Mary Evelyn was born on November 8, 1943 and raised most of her life in Waco, TX but had the privilege of experiencing many other places including Arizona and Washington State. After raising her three children, she had a passion to serve others and became an ordained minister where she thrived building community and encouraging the youth. Among Mary Evelyn’s many hobbies, she enjoyed the performing arts where she played the roll of “Annie” in Annie Get Your Gun, painting, knitting, dancing including tap and Tai Chi, singing her heart out and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary Evelyn is survived by her brother Ralph Curton Jr., her three children, sons Ronnie and Brett Moore; daughter Molly Young and husband Davis; her bonus daughters Arianna Stute and husband Nick; Dorothy Keininger; her grandchildren, Cody Moore-Prosise and wife Amanda; Cougar Moore; Raeanna, Deuce and Triton Moore; Channing, Davis Michael, Sheridan, and Brielle Young; her bonus grand children Teagan Morgan, Lucas and Sutton Stute; her great grandchildren Mathilda and Robert Theordore Moore-Prosise; Adeline Moore and Fallon Burgess; her bonus great granddaughter Chloe Madison.
She is preceded in death by her husband Carl Long; parents Ralph “Bud” Curton Sr. and Margrett Jane Buchanan Curton.
In lieu of sending flowers, we ask for donations to be placed on her behalf with Meals on Wheels, St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, Fuzzy Friends or Sally’s House.
