Marilyn Doerr

Marilyn Louise Hendrix Doerr passed away at the age of 81 on March 3, 2017. She was born on October 28, 1935 in Bartlett, Texas, to George Warren Hendrix and Gladys Cornett Hendrix. She graduated from Holland High School in 1954 and attended Southwest Texas State Teachers College. She was married to Everett James (E.J.) Doerr on July 8, 1955.

Marilyn was a stay at home working mom babysitting for working mothers until the family moved from Houston to Seguin in 1976. After moving to Seguin, she worked at the Motorola plant and retired after more than 20 years of service. Everyone there knew her as "Grandma".

She is survived by her husband; and their two daughters, Debra Doerr Felker and husband Joseph Felker of Humble, TX; and Karen Doerr Craig and husband Steven Craig of Cibolo, TX. She was a proud Grandma to 6 Grandchildren, Joseph Donald Felker, Jr. of Houston, TX and California; Kelly Craig Tosh and husband Michael Tosh of Schertz, TX; Angela Felker Grilliot and husband Matthew Grilliot of Manila, Philippines; Ashley Craig Cotton and husband Cory Cotton of Schertz, TX; Daphne Craig Townzen and husband Matthew Townzen of Converse, TX, and Steven James Craig and wife Jennifer Craig of Schertz, TX. She was so proud of her 11 Great-Grandchildren and would have soon been a Great-Great-Grandma.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, and her brother George Howard Hendrix.

Marilyn loved her family, her friends, George Strait, and the Spurs!

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Goetz Funeral Home, 713 N Austin St, Seguin, TX from 1:00 to 4:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 PM in the Chapel at Goetz Funeral Home.
