Mallie “Mozelle” Watson, age 92, passed away peacefully at her home in Seguin, Texas, surrounded by her family. We have no doubt she was carried on angel wings to reunite with the loved ones who were waiting to welcome her home.
Mozelle was born on July 15, 1933, in Prairie Hill, Texas, to Dennis Lee McClinton and Leta Maude Grice. She lived a long and meaningful life filled with love, devotion, and quiet strength.
Mozelle, lovingly known as “Mo,” retired from Guadalupe Valley Hospital in December 1997, where she worked in the radiology department. She took pride in her work and the relationships she built throughout her career.
She had a love for bowling and was part of a league for many years, cherishing the friendships and memories made along the way. Mo also enjoyed traveling to casinos with her best friend, Ethel, where she became known as a true slot machine lover.
Mozelle will be remembered not only for her kind heart and unwavering love for her family, but also for her vibrant personality. She was known for her beautiful fingernails, always polished in a sparkly red, and for her quick wit and sense of humor that could keep anyone laughing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis Lee McClinton, Leta Maude Grice Dahlberg; her stepfather, Albert Dahlberg; her first husband, Raymond B. Hall; her second husband and the love of her life, Claywell Watson Jr.; her infant son, Raymond Chris Hall; daughters, Mona Rae Hogan and Linda Gayle Riley; son, Sammy Claywell Watson; son-in-law, Henry Eugene Riley; and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Sue Hall.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Hall of Jacksonville, FL; son-in-law, Frank Hogan (Sheila) of Flatonia, TX; and daughter-in-law, Rebecca Watson of Navasota, TX.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer Saunders of Devine, TX; Haley Hogan of Seguin, TX; Christopher Hall of Jacksonville, FL; Joseph Hall of Jacksonville, FL; Frank Hogan and Negeen Hogan of Pflugerville, TX; and David Long of Seguin, TX.
Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Kylee Saunders of College Station, TX; Mason Saunders of Devine, TX; Frankie Hogan and Farrah Hogan of Pflugerville, TX; Warren Riley of Pleasanton, TX; and Patsy Riley of Seguin, TX.
She is also survived by her best friend and partner in crime, Ethel Cathey, along with the Cathey family, whose friendship brought her great joy over the years. The two shared many adventures traveling to casinos and spent countless hours playing Skip-Bo together. Some may say Mo had a way of grabbing a few too many cards and quietly discarding the extras—but she would never admit to it.
Funeral services will be held at Goetz Funeral Home, 713 North Austin Street, Seguin, Texas, on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Sabinal Cemetery in Sabinal, Texas.
