Lydia Urquiza Arriola peacefully passed away on Friday, April 25th, at the age of 96. She was born to Manuel Urquiza and Teresa Castillo Luna on March 25th, 1929, in Mackay, Texas.
Lydia is preceded in death by her husband Miguel Arriola, brothers Cruz Urquiza, Manuel Urquiza, and sister Dionisia Urquiza.
She is survived by sons James Rodriguez (Joyce), Raymond Arriola, Adrian Arriola (Melinda), and grandchildren Margaret Garcia, Robert Rodriguez, Patricia Rodriguez, Paul Arriola, David Arriola, Jennifer Arriola, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Lydia is remembered for her faith in God and her devotion to family, especially her grandchildren. She built a career of helping others through positions with the Silver Dollar restaurant, Sears, and the Guadalupe County Elections office. She was always ready to help a friend in need. Lydia will be remembered for taking her children to church every Sunday, thereby planting the seeds for her greatest gift.
Serving as Pallbearers are Robert Rodriguez, Mark Garcia, Paul Arriola, David Arriola, Frank Arriola Jr, Marquis Melendez, and Mark Borrego (alternate).
Visitation will be held at Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. A procession will depart Goetz Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. for the burial at San Geronimo Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Seguin Animal Services, 555 Fred Byrd Drive, Seguin, TX 78155.
