Lonnie Kirk Pence entered heaven and eternal rest on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the age of 82. He was born on December 18, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas to his parents, Ralph and Marian Pence. After high school, Lonnie joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served honorably from 1958 to 1962. On May 31, 1962, Lonnie married Gailene Rikard. Together, they had five daughters: Jackie, Rhonda, Heidi, Jessica, and Lonna. In 1968, the Pence family moved to Marion, Texas. During this time, Lonnie worked as an electrician for the City of San Antonio and then as a supervisor for SAWS. After his retirement in 1998, Lonnie kept busy with his business, TelStar Services. He always enjoyed learning something new and often sought out new adventures. He was an active man, who continued to enjoy riding horses, going swimming, riding his motorcycle, and reading. He often started new projects and helped others with their projects. Above all, Lonnie was a devoted family man. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, other family members, and friends dearly. He enjoyed spending time with them as often as possible and didn’t need a special occasion or any particular reason to get together. For Lonnie, every day was a celebration of life, family, and friends.
Lonnie is preceded in death by both his parents, Ralph and Marian, his father in-law and mother in-law, Gail and Thelma Rikard, his sister, Karen Bennett and brother, Lloyd Pence.
