Leonor A. Saenz

Leonor A. Saenz, also lovingly known as Nora, age 90, ended her courageous fight with cancer on October 31, 2025. She did so in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love she helped create.

Born on January 25, 1935, in Coahuila, Mexico to Jesus Ancira and Leonor Hernandez she was the fourth of five children. She is survived by her youngest brother Hector Ancira, her daughters, stepdaughters and their husbands: Gilda (Doug), Angela (Chris), Jackie (Bill), and Debi (Walter).

Nora leaves a legacy of a life grounded in a steadfast faith, love of family, unwavering strength and sacrifice. She faced life trials including the final battle with grace and a spirit that refused to be shaken. She was a proud, nurturing and loving mother, grandmother of 15, great-grandmother of 21, and great-great grandmother of 3 and two on the way. She was a Tia, cousin and friend, pouring herself into her family and loved ones with patience and unconditional support.

Her home was a place of comfort where prayers were whispered, delicious meals were shared, and laughter and music softened the hardest of days. Her mission here on earth fulfilled, she is reunited with the love of her life, Fermin Saenz, her loving parents, Jesus Ancira and Leonor Hernandez Ancira, her sister Inocencia Cadena, her brothers Carlos and Luis Ancira and her stepdaughter Sonia Buniva.

Her family will forever carry the values she instilled: Love God, Love Family, and Always Persevere. The joy of life and love she shared is heartbreakingly missed by all who knew her.

An Interment service at 12:30 pm on Saturday, November 08, 2025 at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, Hwy 46.

A reception for family and friends at the Frieden’s Church Activity Center, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on November 8, 2025.
