Leonardo Molina Jr.

Leonardo Molina, Jr. was a good man who served his country, education, and community. He loved his family and will be dearly missed.

Leonardo Molina, Jr. died shortly before his 88th birthday. He was born to Leonardo Molina, Sr. and Aurora Molina in Seguin, Texas where he lived the majority of his life.

He served his country for 4 years in the Navy on the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge. He also boxed while in the Navy.

Upon his discharge from the Navy, Leonardo went back to school and graduated from Texas Lutheran College with a degree in education in 1962. He was a teacher for the remainder of his career primarily in Seguin ISD where he retired.

In serving his community, he started the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Seguin, TX.  He was also a member of LULAC and the American GI Forum. He remained a Mason until his death. In support of the Hispanic community, he worked hard to get Juan Seguin Elementary declared a historical site.

Education was always very important to Leonardo. As such, he and his wife established scholarships for Hispanic students at Texas Lutheran University.

In his free time, he has always enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Leonardo is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Reynaldo & Enrique, sister Raquel Hernandez, and son David Molina. He is survived by his spouse of 64 years, Guadalupe Molina, his son Leonardo Molina III and wife Delia, daughter Deborah Delano and husband Kenneth, daughter Lisa Molina, and son Reynaldo Molina, III.  He is also survived by grandchildren Annalisa and Adrianna Molina, Cynthia and Michael Delano, Daniel Molina and Natalie Combs, Samuel and Luke Molina, and five great­ grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Goetz Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service officiated by Deacon Nick Carrillo at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. lnterment with Military Honors will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.

The Family would like to invite all attendees to a reception at the Masonic Lodge (1945 W Kingsbury St., Seguin, Texas 78155) following the conclusion of the burial.
