In Loving Memory of Jesus Leal Lopez
September 10, 1930 – February 11, 2026
Jesus Leal Lopez, born September 10, 1930, in Seguin, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, at the age of 95.
Jesus was a hardworking man who dedicated many of his years to road construction. Through long days and tough conditions, he helped build the very roads that connected communities—reflecting the steady, dependable man he was throughout his life.
On July 8, 1951, he married Fidencia Barrientos and together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, love, family, and simple joys. Their marriage was a lasting example of devotion and partnership.
Jesus found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved tending to his garden, watching what he planted grow with patience and care. He enjoyed shelling pecans and taking walks down the street, never missing an opportunity to visit neighbors and share a friendly conversation. He was a familiar and welcoming presence in his neighborhood.
He treasured time spent with family and friends, sharing stories about hunting and fishing or listening intently to others’ tales. He loved a good story and he loved good food just as much. Mealtime was one of his favorite times, especially when surrounded by those he loved.
Jesus will be remembered for his warm heart, hardworking spirit, love of conversation, and deep devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the roads he helped build, the gardens he tended, the stories he shared, and the countless lives he touched.
Jesus Leal Lopez is survived by his beloved wife, Fidencia Lopez. He was born to Fidencio and Cecilia Lopez, who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Manuela Guerrero and her husband Francisco Guerrero; his brother, Ascencion Lopez; his son-in-law, Humberto Moreno; and his brothers-in-law, Guadalupe Garcia and John Mertz.

He leaves behind his cherished children, Irene Moreno, Jesse Lopez Jr. (Corrine), Juan B Lopez (Teresa), and Elena Zamora (Manuel Jr.). He also held a special place in his heart for his granddaughter, Jessica Lopez, whom he lovingly raised as his own.
He is survived by his grandchildren including Jessica, Jamie, Vanessa, Jesse lll, Eva, Linda, John, Mikey, Cory & Casey. He also has numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom were a great source of pride and joy in his life.
