Emblem

Garry Lee Wright of Seguin, TX experienced his last earthly adventure when he took his final “safari” (Swahili word for journey) to be with the Lord on November 30th, 2025 at the age of 79. Garry was born on October 2nd, 1946, in Ganado, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents David and Edna Wright, his wife of 42 years Shirley Radeen Wright, and her parents Raymond and Margaret Norris Sr.

He is survived by his two daughters, Sheryl Renee Wright Cowey and Gerri Leigh Wright Gallegos, their husbands Clifton Cowey, Jimmy Gallegos, and granddaughter Jolissa Rodriguez. Garry is further survived by his loving wife, Debbie Anderson Wright. Garry will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father and friend.

After graduating from Seguin High School, Garry joined the US Army where he served in Thailand during the Vietnam War. His lifelong passion was hunting and guiding big game animals. He was also an avid deep-sea fisherman. Garry spent most of his hunting excursions in Africa. He was a lifetime member of Safari Club International. After retirement, he spent many hours fishing and kayaking in Geronimo Creek. Garry was also a direct descendent of Davy Crockett.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Safari Club International.

We would like to thank Hope Hospice New Braunfels (especially his dedicated nurses, Nicole and Tamara) and Avir Walnut Springs Nursing Center for their loving care and dedication.
