Mrs. Evelyn M. Forshage, age 94, of Seguin, Texas passed away November 18, 2019. She was born on March 17, 1925 in Gonzales, Texas to parents, Albert and Hedwig (Frankanhauser) Wenske. She married her husband of 63 years, Mr. Alex L. Forshage in Seguin. Mrs. Forshage was a homemaker and a member of the St. James Catholic Church. During the early years of her marriage, she maintained a household of four children and helped her husband, Alex manage their dairy farm. She was an avid gardener and received the “Residential Yard of the Month” award several times by the Seguin Garden Club. Mrs. Forshage enjoyed cooking for her family, playing Bunko and the game of 42. She also enjoyed taking care of her dogs, Chrissy and Toby.
Mrs. Forshage is survived by her children, Charlotte Gips and her husband, Cliff of San Marcos, Texas, Larry Forshage and wife, Linda of Bryan, Texas, Allen Forshage and wife, Darlene of Athens, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex L. Forshage; parents, Albert and Hedwig Wenske; daughter, Patsy Stone; two grandchildren; two sisters and a brother.
The family will receive friends for an evening of visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin. A rosary service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, November 22, 2019, at St. James Catholic Church with Mass of Christian burial following at 10:00 a.m. with Father Greg Nevlud officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. James Catholic Church of Seguin or Kindred Hospice, 1911 Corporate Drive, Suite 104, San Marcos, Texas 78666.
