Doris Alves

Doris E. Engelke Alves, of Seguin, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the age of 89. She was born in Guadalupe County, Texas on February 9, 1929 to Linda (Felkamp) and Harry Engelke, Sr.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold E. Alves, Sr. "Shadow", her parents and siblings Ruben Engelke, Clarence Engelke, and Alice Schneider. Surviving her are her children Charlotte Ramos (EZ), Janice Hargraves, Harold Alves, Jr. (Yvonne); grandchildren James "Jimbo" Schievelbein, Scot Schievelbein (Kristen), Donna Lewis (Bryan), John Michael Hargraves (Joy), Mason Alves (James), and Andrea Alves (Cash); as well as 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving her are sisters Nelda Huth, Mary Ann Staats (Alton), Josie Wilkenson, and brother "Sonny" Engelke Jr. (Allison), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Doris and her husband were proud owners of the Lake Placid Café. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, cooking and trips to Las Vegas. Doris will be loved and missed by those that knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Cross Church (814 N Bauer St, Seguin, TX 78155) on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. The Burial will follow at the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
