Seguin and the surrounding communities mourn the loss of Dennis Arno Bloch, who passed away in San Antonio on May 21, 2024. Born on June 1, 1948, in Seguin, Texas, Dennis was the youngest son of Lillian and Elton Bloch and brother to Elton Bloch Jr.

Dennis led a life filled with dedication and service, starting with his honorable service in the United States Army in the 20th Engineer Brigade during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. His commitment to duty was also evident in his professional life, culminating in a fulfilling career spanning 30 years at TxDOT before his first well-deserved retirement. Dennis then worked several more years for Guadalupe County before retiring a second time. Dennis was also a dedicated member of the McQueeney VFW Post 9213 for over 30 years. During this time he held many positions from Commander, Quartermaster and Bingo Chairman. Dennis was instrumental in the day to day operations of the VFW.

On November 7, 1970, Dennis married the love of his life, Vickie (Henderson) Bloch. Their union was blessed with two children, Eric Bloch and Michelle (Bloch) Barton. Family was at the center of Dennis's world, and he found immense joy in spending time at the family farm surrounded by his children, his treasured grandchildren Marinel Bloch and Haydn Bloch and his cows.

Known for his warm and caring nature, Dennis will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, a caring grandfather, and a loyal friend. He touched many lives with his kindness and left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

To honor Dennis's memory, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Goetz Funeral Home located at 713 N Austin St., Seguin, TX 78155. The event will be an opportunity for family members and friends to pay their respects and share cherished memories of a life well lived.

In this time of grief, we express our deepest condolences to his children Eric Bloch and wife Jennifer, Michelle Barton and husband Luke, as well as his grandchildren Marinel Bloch and Haydn Bloch. We also extend our sympathies to all those who had the honor of knowing such a special and caring man.

Dennis’s legacy will continue to live on through the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have him bless their lives with his love and compassion. May he rest in peace knowing that he was truly cherished and will be profoundly missed by all.

In remembrance of Dennis’s life the family asks those who wish to and can make a donation to the Veteran’s Relief Fund C/O McQueeney VFW Post 9213, 275 Gallagher Rd, McQueeney, TX 78123.
