Delmar Lee Salge

On July 7, 2026, Delmar (Sonny) Salge went to be with the Lord at the age of 95. It was a life well lived. 

Delmar was known to his friends as "Sonny." He married his wife Patricia and they had four girls and then finally a boy. He would often take all these children fishing in a boat! He loved fishing. He would help them clean and eat the fish. He loved woodworking. He built Patricia a sewing cabinet. He helped his children build bird houses and built them a desk for homework. He also loved gardening. Since there were five children, he grew a BIG garden and had all the help to water, grow, and pick this garden. We had all the veggies we could eat and would can the rest. Delmar was a hardworking man. He worked at SMI, now known as CMC, as a diesel mechanic for a large part of his life. He took care of his family the best he could. So Thank you, Dad, from the bottom of our hearts. We love you forever and we will miss you forever.

Delmar is survived by his daughters, Debra Schaefer (Richard Schaefer), May Scholl (Mark Selling), Paula Hurley, a son, Darrin Salge and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Salge, mother and father, Hugo and Helen Salge, two sisters, Amy Jones and Joyce Smith, his baby brother Roy Sylvester Salge, and his daughter Brenda Gomez. 

Visitation will be held at Goetz Funeral Home on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at San Geronimo Cemetery.
