Daniel Ernest Lyons was an extremely kind and gentle soul.
Daniel was Born April 8, 1983, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. He lived most of his life in Texas– a place that was very important to him and that he felt very connected to. He grew up in Cypress and graduated from Cypress Falls High School in 2001. He was a very talented baseball player, and played on many teams throughout his youth and young adult years. Later, he shared his love of baseball with others by coaching several little league teams. He was a hard worker and had many jobs; he gave his all to each one. Most of all, he loved working the land, especially his family’s ranch in Gonzales, Texas. He always dreamed of having land of his own. He loved fishing, surfing, golf, traveling, playing with his nephew Noa, and making people smile.
Daniel cared deeply for his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Terri Lyons; his sister, Laura Prokic; his nephew, Noa Prokic; his grandfather, Ernest Luker; his uncle, Jack Luker; his father, Dan Lyons, and his aunt, Diane Sherman, along with other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Nannette Luker. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church (7901 Westview Dr, Houston, TX 77055) on Saturday, January 10, at 1pm. If you have pictures of Daniel that you would like to share, you can add them to this slideshow:
