Celia Blanco Herrera passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the age of 87, in Seguin, Texas. She was born on January 4, 1938, in El Paso, Texas to Rafael Blanco and Maria Soledad (Venegas) Blanco.
In 1965, Celia married the love of her life, Daniel J. Herrera. Together, they nurtured a loving family. Celia worked for many years in the space industry in Houston, Texas, an era of dedication and professionalism that she cherished until she retired in 1994. Following her retirement, she relocated to Seguin, Texas, where she enjoyed her golden years at the family estate, El Alamito Ranch.
Celia’s devotion to her family was evident. She cherished spending quality time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who were a source of immense joy and pride for her. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, embodying the warmth and kindness that brought her family together.
Celia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Daniel J. Herrera; children, Marina (Demetrius), Marisa (Paul), and Danny; grandchildren, Leti (Hunter), Aspen, Allie (Matt), Anthony, Gianna, and Luca; and great-grandchildren, Cali, Dexter, Archer, and Raihn. She is further survived by her sister, Maria Estella Montelongo.
Celia joins her beloved parents, Rafael and Maria Blanco, along with her siblings, Jose Blanco, Maria Soledad Rico, Raul Blanco, Ophelia Pinard, Rafael Blanco, and Guillermo Blanco, who have all preceded her in death.
Celia B. Herrera will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Services honoring Celia will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in El Paso, Texas. The Holy rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 9:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
