On Monday April 22, 2024, Arthur Louis Calvert was called back to join our heavenly Father. Arthur was born to Sorney and Mary Calvert on January 14, 1943, in Seguin, Texas where he attended Seguin public schools. Arthur was in the Army for 4 years. He worked for the railroad for 46 years, afterwhich he retired. He professed Christ at an early age and was a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Seguin. He was a loyal and faithful servant of the Lord. Arthur was united in marriage to Erna B. Jones on May 1, 1970.
Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, Sorney and Mary Calvert, his wife Erna Calvert, brothers Willie Calvert Sr., Sonny Calvert, J.V. Calvert and Otis Calvert. His three sisters Bertie Calvert, Hattie Johnson and Minnie Moore.
Those left to cherish his memory are his brother Robert Calvert, his daughter Lisa Crutcher and her husband Robert who he saw as a son along with their children Ayla Dawn Maria Clark and Robert Dwayne Clark whom he lovingly called Sweet Baby. His daughter Lisa Robinson and her children Lydia, Emanni and Vivan Robinson. Arthur Calvert Jr. (Speedie) and his children Trumane, Lisa and Breanna Calvert as well as Disree Carter. His memory will stay with his vast array of friends, grandchildren and relatives.
The family of Arthur Calvert would like to acknowledge all the acts of kindness shown during this time. May God's blessing shine on each of you.
Services honoring Arthur will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Goetz Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
